Eric B. Nielson is a partner at Roy, Nielson, Platts & McGee.
Nielson’s family has been practicing law in Southern Idaho since his grandfather began practicing law in Burley, Idaho in 1948. Nielson’s father was an attorney in Twin Falls, Idaho for many years and Nielson currently practices law with his brother, Brent Nielson, and his brother-in-law, Tyler McGee.
Nielson practices law in the areas of divorce, child custody, paternity, child support, spousal maintenance, guardianships, terminations and adoptions, protection orders, contempt, prenuptial agreements, and other family law matters. He has handled hundreds of these types of cases throughout Twin Falls County, Jerome County, Lincoln County, Blaine County, Cassia County, and Minidoka County. Nielson has significant experience litigating family matters in Southern Idaho from court trials to the Idaho Supreme Court.
Nielson is a Twin Falls native and graduated from Twin Falls High School. He earned both his Juris Doctorate Degree as well as his Master's Degree in Accountancy from the University of Idaho. His education and experience helps him identify and address complicated business and tax issues within the context of a divorce.
Nielson is a certified and registered family law mediator. He conducts mediation surrounding the subject matters listed above and is on the Idaho Supreme Court’s Roster of Child Custody Mediators.
