What does it mean to be AV® rated?
At our firm, we are honored to have two attorneys who have received an AV® Rating from Martindale-Hubbell®, which is an objective indicator of the ethical standards and professional ability of lawyers. These ratings are drawn from peer evaluations of lawyers who are members of the bar and the judiciary. The first step of the review process is the General Ethical Standards rating, which looks into whether or not an attorney adheres to a professional standard of conduct, ethics, reliability, diligence, and more. Should they meet the criteria for "Very High," they move onto the next step that rates Legal Ability. In this next step, attorneys are rated on legal knowledge, analytical capabilities, judgment, communication, and experience.
